Sponsorship Opportunities
Program Description and Objectives: The Stowe Weekend of Hope for Cancer Survivors is held annually on the first weekend in May in Stowe, Vermont for the purpose of inspiring, educating and celebrating the lives of people living with cancer. It is presented by Stowe Weekend of Hope, Inc. in cooperation with: The Stowe Business Community, Stowe Areas Association, Central Vermont Medical Center/National Life Cancer Treatment Center, Copley Hospital and The Vermont Cancer Center The event features presentations and lectures by nationally renowned oncologists and medical researchers on the latest cancer research and treatments; and also provides inspirational and healing events and experiences for hundreds of cancer survivors and their families. The Stowe Weekend of Hope is an opportunity for survivors and their families – to learn, to share, to meet other survivors facing similar challenges, and rejuvenate their spirits and energy.
Identification of Audience: Attendees are cancer survivors and their families/caregivers primarily from the northeast, and some attendees have come from as far as Wisconsin and California to attend the event. We expect to see between 600 and 1200 survivors and their families at our event this year. Over 25 cancer types were represented in 2009.
Marketing Efforts: Over 10,000 event brochures are distributed to oncology offices and support groups throughout the Northeast. Publicity efforts include national cancer publications, and local and regional general media.
Donation Request: Because the event is free to cancer survivors and their families, the Stowe Weekend of Hope seeks corporate and foundation donations to offset the operating costs of the event. These costs include facility fees, speaker honorariums and travel expenses, equipment rental, food and beverage, and other administrative costs. We are requesting a charitable gift. Without your donation and those from other foundations and sponsors, the Stowe Weekend of Hope would not be possible.
Sponsorship Opportunities: The Stowe Weekend of Hope sponsorship opportunities are based on cash or in-kind contributions towards the expenses associated with the Stowe Weekend of Hope. Sponsorship fulfillments can be modified based on total amount of donation, donor’s interest, and needs of the program. The event is free to cancer survivors and their families, and all funding for the weekend will be used towards event programming, travel and other event expenses.
